Bio
Sean writes and directs film, tv and theatre.
In 2019, he was a finalist for Canada’s highest literary prize, the Governor General award, for his play The Fighting Season, which was inspired by his father’s deployment during the War in Afghanistan.
Sean has written a lot about war, and the impact that conflict has on everyday people; his play Redpatch (co-written with Raes Calvert) tells the story of Indigenous soldiers who fought for Canada in World War I. His newest play, The Soldier’s Wife, is a biographical story about Captain Trevor Greene, who was grievously injured in Afghanistan, and his wife Debbie.
